Colin Bagby '12CONWAY, Ark. July 6 2012 - Colin Bagby '12 is one of two Arkansas students planning to go into the ministry to receive the 2012 Seminary Scholarship from the United Methodist Foundation of Arkansas.
Bagby will attend the United Methodist seminary at Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Ga.
Bagby explained to the Arkansas United Methodist that his experiences working with the Hendrix Miller Center for Vocation, Ethics and Calling, as well as other undergraduate experiences and church internships, helped him discover his call to ministry.
"The most exciting thing about my calling to vocational ministry is realizing that God did not just call me one time," Bagby told the Methodist. "God has been calling me and continues to call me to this day."
Currently, there are 15 Seminary Scholars serving Arkansas congregations.
"I am very proud of Colin and look forward to his ministry in the Arkansas Conference," said Hendrix College Chaplain Rev. J. Wayne Clark '84. "Colin has been a great asset to Hendrix in providing leadership in the chapel band, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship Scholars program and the ministry exploration group."
"Colin is very passionate about ministry and the United Methodist church and is very deserving of this scholarship," Clark added. "The conference will see a significant return on their investment in Colin."
