Martini/Kiefer teamed up in July 2009 after a tryout at the ISU Pairs seminar in Berlin. Martini competed internationally at the junior level in singles. Kiefer is still competing in singles at the international level. He represented Austria at the 2008 World Junior Championships is the 2012 National bronze medallist in singles. His sister Julia was a competitive skater as well and is now part of their coaching team. Martini has five brothers. One of them competed internationally in short track, the others are playing ice hockey.
