Hundreds of Syrians, fleeing one-and-a-half years of violence in their country, crossed into Turkey through the border villages of Kuşaklı, Kavalcık and Bükülmez in Hatay province's Reyhanlı district.
The Syrian refugees included one general, four colonels, one lieutenant colonel, three majors, six captains, one lieutenant and several soldiers with their families. The soldiers and their families were taken to Hatay's Apaydın camp, while the rest of the group, composed mostly of women and children, were taken to refugee camps in Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep provinces.
