Nafti leaves the field at StMary's
Mehdi Nafti is expected to be out of action for at least two weeks after scans have shown he has suffered a small tear to his hamstring.
The Tunisian midfielder was forced to leave the pitch with the injury, just before half time in last Saturday's 2-1 victory against Southampton.
"Scans have shown that Mehdi has got a Grade One tear," confirmed Blues boss Alex McLeish today.
"It's a very small tear and Tim Williamson (the head physiotherapist) says clinically it's not bad.
"It's high up his hamstring where the muscle meets the tendon and Tim thinks a couple of weeks, so that's a blow for us."
McLeish is already without the services of Damien Johnson (back problem) and new midfield recruit Kemy Agustien is still returning to full fitness following a hernia operation.
During the weekend win at St Mary's, Sebastian Larsson replaced Nafti in the centre of midfield.
