Yes, and the oblique suggestion to remove even the mere mention of the newspaper article makes Eliezer look like a). an authoritarian who can't stomach any media exposure that he does not control, and b). someone who's never heard of the Streisand Effect.

I don't remember who said that Eliezer consistently overvalues the effectiveness of secrecy, but that judgement seems more and more apt every day.

(Unless it eventually turns out that Eliezer has been hoarding a bunch of really good secrets and that it was a really good idea to keep them secrets, of course.)

The really amusing thing (which I only thought of after posting that comment) is that it was Eliezer who pointed out how alluring secrecy is with his Bayesian conspiracy-verse and in posts like http://lesswrong.com/lw/p0/to_spread_science_keep_it_secret/

That would be me. (I've said it approximately 4 times. I don't recall others bringing it up but some have agreed.)
