| 15Events on August 15, 2012 Central Library Social Justice Series: Anarchism
Starts: 12:00 pm
Ends: August 15, 2012 - 2:00 pm
Location: Buffalo and Erie County Public Library - 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203
Description: Join Buffalo Class Action, a WNY Anarchist organization as part of the Social Justice Series at the Central Library on Wednesday, August 15th, 12:00 PM in the Ring-of-Knowledge: Anarchism and Its Practices.
This teach-in is designed to allow people to explore anarchist ideas in a practical, accessible way, where participants can begin to see what Anarchism is (and isn't), how many of anarchism's main principles are present in the current practices and demands of various movements such as the Occupy movement. The young folks who are part of this group will clarify the philosophy through presentation, question & answer. They will also bring in current U.S. labor, housing & student issues as they relate to the topic. Open to all!
Buffalo Class Action is an organization of anarchists in Buffalo, NY. We strive to further our ideas of social revolution while participating in the day to day struggles of the working class. In a city that has felt the disastrous effects of capitalism, we believe that an explicitly revolutionary organization is essential to our collective liberation.
