Play this: ‘Borderlands’ gets remade into ‘Smash TV’-style arcade shooter
Borderlands wasn’t always a modern first-person shooter — or at least that’s what 2K Games wants you to think with its latest promotional browser game. The game is meant to hype the upcoming Borderlands 2, but manages to stand up pretty well on its own. The pixelated shooter is a demake, imagining what the franchise would have looked like in 1989, and letting you pick from one of four characters to shoot hordes of alien creatures in an enclosed arena.

The Polaroid aficionados at The Impossible Project have made it a long-lasting goal to keep the company’s signature retro and cool instant film format alive. After successfully bringing Polaroid’s Spirit 600 back to life and into Urban Outfitters stores, and creating a new line of “Polaroid Classic” film, the team has reached another milestone and is now responsible for the return of instant 8 x 10 photographs.

Tumblr ‘truly disappointed’ by Twitter’s decision to block friend-finding on the blogging service
Tumblr has reached out with a statement that places the blame squarely on Twitter for cutting off access to the feature, going so far as to point out that while Twitter isn’t playing ball, Facebook and Google are happy to continue supporting friend-finding on the service:
To our dismay, Twitter has restricted our users’ ability to “Find Twitter Friends” on Tumblr. Given our history of embracing their platform, this is especially upsetting. Our syndication feature is responsible for hundreds of millions of tweets, and we eagerly enabled Twitter Cards across 70 million blogs and 30 billion posts as one of Twitter’s first partners. While we’re delighted by the response to our integrations with Facebook and Gmail, we are truly disappointed by Twitter’s decision.
