Head thrown back, eyes hidden behind shades - as she sashayed through the airport in her killer heels Gwen Stefani looked every inch the rock star.

That is apart from her entourage. The No Doubt singer was accompanied by her two most dedicated fans, sons Zuma, four, and Kingston, six.

Gwen, who wore her bleached blonde hair in a shaggy style, combined her duel roles as mom and celebrity to great effect as she arrived back in Los Angeles.

She guided her grumpy looking sons past autograph hunters, saving all her smiles for the youngsters.

Gwen, who turns 43 next month, wore a tailored pair of black trousers and a jacket with prominent padded shoulders. But it was her leather boots which gave her that rock star edge, with cut outs revealing her perfectly pedicured crimson nails.

The family were returning from New York where the Hollaback Girl singer took to the stage with her ska-pop band for the NFL Opening Kickoff concert at the Rockefeller Centre.

After an 11-year break, No Doubt performed at the special concert alongside Mariah Carey who sang a few numbers - one alongside Cee-Lo Green.

Their highly-anticipated album Push and Shove will hit stores on September 25, and presales began today for the band's six headlining shows at Los Angeles' Gibson Amphitheatre happening November 24 to December 4.

Asked whether she managed to juggle motherhood with her career, Gwen recently told British Elle magazine: ‘It’s not possible. There are always days that somebody suffers.

‘The only thing I really worry about is, again - I keep bringing it up because it’s my biggest stress - how do I do this and that?

‘How do I do both? So that’s like the constant battle that I have every day. I do worry about that all the time.’

I guess no son of hers will be a brunette. She´s no better than the people who chemically straighten their kids´ hair .

Does she dye their hair? That's mental! Also surely Zuma is too big for a buggy?

bad mum for dying her kids hair! are they not good looking enough? does their naturally dark hair disappoint her?she so rock and roll that her kids have to fit in with her image? its so wrong on every level. if she was a single parent on benefits she would be lambasted but good old gwen gets called a style icon! pathetic and desperate!

Has she ever confirmed that she dyes his hair? Mine always looked like that as a young kid NATURALLY. It still does to an extent now and I have friends who's hair does it too, lightens up in the sun then it grows out so it looks lightened dramatically on the ends.

Zuma is 4. So why is he in a pushchair?

A four year old is far too big for a stroller! She looks pretty though.

WHY WHY WHY?! Zuma is four, why on earth is he in a pushchair?! I got rid of my pushchair when my son was 26months old as we never used it, he walked everywhere, and people wonder why children are lazy!!
