They are regularly seen trying to push the boat out when it comes to experimenting with fashion.

But Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock picked something of an unusual style inspiration this afternoon (Friday) as she stepped out in a Super Mario Brothers inspired T-shirt dress.

The 19-year-old singer channelled much-loved character Mario in the top, which she teamed with a pair of tiny black shorts and leopard-print boots.

Leigh-Anne finished her outfit off with a pair of huge hoop earrings, and wore her hair swept back in a high ponytail with a backcombed quiff detail at the front.

But she wasn't the only member of Little Mix who took an unusual approach to picking their outfit today.

Jesy Nelson wore a football jersey top with a black pencil skirt featuring a picture of a huge bird printed on the front.

She completed her outfit with a pair of huge black heeled boots, and left her dark red hair loose in tumbling curls around her shoulders.

Perrie Edwards opted for a red peplum top with a pair of black leggings, white studded leather jacket and black ankle-strap sandals.

However, she appeared to have somewhat overdone the styling for the occasion, looking slightly stiff with her over-blowdried hair.

The girls were appeared on ITV lunchtime show Loose Women to promote their number one single Wings and upcoming album.

And while it's hard to believe that just a year ago the group were relative unknowns, the girls have been offering advice to some of the favourite X Factor contestants.

Speaking about Lucy Spraggan, who wowed with judges with her original composition Last Night, Leigh-Anne said: 'She’s incredible. We watched her audition and she’s so clever.

'My advice would be to just stay humble and grounded. Don’t change and keep doing what she’s doing, because her act is so original and I think she’ll definitely do very well.

'She’s got a good chance. I think she’s brilliant. She should continue writing her own songs and bringing that originality to the competition, I think she’ll be fine.'
