She was widely praised for her most recent role as a preoperative transsexual in Hit & Miss.

And after Sky Atlantic announced the drama would not be returning for a second season last week, Chloe Sevigny was seen moving on with her life today.

The actress showed her effortless fashionista status as she stepped out in New York in an androgynous outfit.

She accessorised with thick-rimmed sunglasses, a gold watch, a monochrome holdall and a slick of scarlet lipstick.

Although it is Fashion Week in New York, the fashion designer is yet to be seen sat front row at any of the shows.

It was revealed last week that Hit & Miss had been cancelled after its six episode-long first season.

The TV show saw Chloe play a transsexual hitwoman who finds out she fathered a child.

Sky Atlantic said in a statement: ‘Hit & Miss was commissioned as a self-contained drama. The series was the first UK drama commissioned for Sky Atlantic and the response from our customers and the press has been overwhelmingly positive.

‘Following the success of this series, Sky Atlantic continues to be committed to investment in original British scripted productions with upcoming drama Falcon, and other productions which will be announced soon.’

Chloe admitted she was worried about taking on the role as she feared she would not do the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community justice.

She old Out magazine earlier this year: 'I asked why they didn’t, and the producers said they didn’t find the right person. It’s a big responsibility toward that community, and I wanted to do them right.'

Despite her concerns about taking on the part, Chloe insists she knew the role was perfect for her as soon as she started reading the script.

She explained: 'Who doesn’t love a challenge? My manager called me and said, "I got some scripts today, and they’re f***ing crazy. I’ve never read anything like them, and I kinda think you’re going to be into it."

'A little way into reading the first script, I knew I was in.'

I love how she doesn't conform to usual Hollywood style/appearance

Chloe was THE BEST on HBO's BIG LOVE and won numerous awards as a result. The intensity she brings to her roles..makes her believable. I also like that she --could probably care less what anyone thinks of her...that is a trait that comes with age and as you get older..I must say ..it's one of the great things...because really...if you live life wondering what people think and trying to please them...you're really NOT living.

Did it air in japan or something? - Mr.Fitnah , Florida USA, 11/9/2012 12:37 It was only shown in the UK as it would have been intellectually too difficult for americans to understand.

It was always going to be a mini-series, not a TV series. Sevigny is now doing American Horror Story.

Boyfriend jeans? more like mom jeans. I don't know who or when Chloe was nominated as a "fashionista" she has no sense of style. I have never seen this woman in anything fashionable.

So it wasn't cancelled, it was only ever to be a one-off series?
