Many X Factor fans were upset when Dannii Minogue quit the show last year.

But the Australian singer has admitted she was open to returning to British TV, but appeared to rule out a return to the X Factor, suggesting she wanted to work on 'something new'.

Currently on a visit to London to showcase her latest Project D collection ahead of London Fashion Week, the 40-year-old admitted she missed being in the UK.

Appearing on Lorraine today, she said: 'I would love to be back on TV here, the support that I’ve had has been incredible.

'It has been such a big ride for me being invited onto a big Saturday night show and I feel like a lot of people lived that with me and I'd love to come back and do something new.'

In May, it was reported Dannii had snubbed ex-lover Simon Cowell's £1million offer to rejoin the X Factor after Kelly Rowland quit the show.

Since leaving the show last year, Dannii is now living full-time in Melbourne, Australia, sharing custody of her son Ethan with ex-boyfriend Kris Smith.

Despite missing from UK screens, Dannii is a judge on Australia's Got Talent.

With The X Factor viewing figures dropping in the UK, Dannii admits she's been following the show's developments.

She continued: 'I think the landscape of TV has changed incredibly in the last 12 months globally, so it’s kind of like, what is going to happen next? And you want to do something that’s really good and that you’re passionate about.

'But it’s been nice, I’ve kept in contact with my X Factor contestants that I’ve mentored, and it’s really cool – it’s been a big part of my life.'

Tonight, she and fashion partner Tabitha Somerset Webb are set to show off their Spring/Summer 2013 collection in a London venue.

Dannii admitted she would love the chance to design for U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.

She enthused: 'She has been on our wish list since we created our label. We just like dresses that are easy to wear – and whatever you see her in, it’s easy-going and yes, her arms are fierce.'

Short hair really didn't suit her, too harsh and masculine on her pretty petite features

Her hair looks lovely short and in the old picture when she was in the xfactor with the bob. She really does suit short hairstyles.
