Leather-clad Kris Jenner hits the dance floor for some dirty dancing with N'Sync's Lance Bass

She is quite accustomed to her mother’s embarrassing antics which fans often view on their reality show.

But Kim Kardashian will have been thankful she wasn’t in New York with Kris Jenner this evening.

While the 31-year-old reality star prepared to get on a plane to the Big Apple from Los Angeles, the Kardashian clan matriarch was already there and partying hard.

Dressed in a skin-tight leather dress, the 56-year-old hit the dance floor at a Fashion Week event and did some serious bumping and grinding.

Kris was joined by Lance Bass of N’Sync fame to pull some awkward shapes at the rather appropriately titled Tumbler and Tipsy by Michael Kuluva fashion show.

Kim may be left red-faced by the cringeworthy dance moves; however it seems she may soon be taking a break from her embarrassing mum.

The star took to her Twitter account today to announce that she is embarking on a three-month-long trip.

As she headed to LAX to catch her flight, Kim revealed she wouldn’t be returning to her hometown any time soon.

She wrote: ‘Packing for 3 months is so hard! But I did it and I'm off!!! I'm gonna miss you LA.’

Meanwhile it was Kris's only embarrassing moment of the day.

NBC and the 'Today' show came under fire from for their decision to air an interview with 'Keeping up With the Kardashians' matriarch about her breast implants instead of yesterday morning's moment of silence at 8.46.a.m. held in memory of the victims of 9/11.

As ABC's 'Good Morning America' and 'CBS This Morning' carried the minutes silence from the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, viewers of NBC across the country had to rely upon their local channel to interrupt 'Today' to witness the poignant ceremonies on Monday.

While most friends and family of the victims of 9/11 were attending events at Ground Zero, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, they expressed their shock afterwards that the network had chosen to be the only national news program not to broadcast the minute.

'Shame on them: NBC skips 9/11 moment of silence for Kardashian interview,' wrote B.Loco on Twitter , expressing her outrage.

Sports talk radio host Tony Bruno took to his Twitter account to say, 'Wow, just Wow. NBC should be ashamed beyond belief and ridiculed by ALL!'

The beleaguered morning show took another hit from Twitter user @karentvchick, who said that the decision was 'Disgusting. Would love to know why @TodayShow thought Kris Jenner was more important: Job openings soon?'

Speaking with 'Today's' Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday, Jenner, the star of 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' discussed September 9th's penultimate episode that showcased her plans to get her 23-year-old breast implants replaced.

There is nothing wrong with wearing what you want and doing what you want even when you are a woman of a certain age. However, when you do these things in order to compete with young women and to compete with your own daughters, it becomes just bizarre.

I would like to read more articles about people like Aimee Copeland , Kathy Bates, etc. people of substance. Kris Jenner is not someone worthy of news but this is my opinion. However, it seems to be shared by many that read these articles. Thank you.
