Masters in Studio Arts - UT Tyler

Meet a University of Texas at Tyler Graduate

From College to Curator

“After graduating from UT Tyler’s MFA program in 2010, I was hired as curator at the Pearce Civil War and Western Art Museum at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas. My work includes developing and installing exhibitions for our art gallery and launching programs related to the museum such as Artist-in-Residence and a lecture series. I also handle all marketing and plan educational programs for school and adult groups.

“The art professors at UT Tyler helped me become more professional as an artist and more of a critical thinker. I really learned to present myself and my work in a more professional format while at the university. I also learned how to take information and use it to develop bodies of work as well as critique my own work more objectively.”
