Pokemon and Nobunaga’s Ambition team up for DS game

Posted by Connor White On December - 18 - 2011

VGAs 2011: The Amazing Spider-Man debut trailer

Posted by Jens Erik Vaaler On December - 11 - 2011

Surprising absolutely no one, Activision decided to make another Spider-Man game, to coincide with the reboot currently being filmed. The Amazing Spider-Man will be developed by Spider-Man Edge of Time developer Beenox, and written by Battlestar Galactica writer Seamus Kevin Fahey.

From what I could judge from the trailer, revealed at the Spike VGAs, we’ll finally get to web swing through New York City again. And fight giant robots, but that’s merely a token bonus.

Hyperkin Game Genie unlocks over 300 DS titles, is magical

Posted by Kyle Gaddo On December - 9 - 2011

Remember when the Game Genie ruled the world of entering codes and made you feel like a total hacker when it game to playing games? Those games are long gone, with DLC taking the place of “extra” fun for your games rather than totally messing with a game’s inherent coding for replay value.

Hyperkin do, and they want you to relive that glory by offering a new version of the Game Genie that unlocks over THREE HUNDRED Nintendo DS titles. Available at an MSRP of $19.99, it’s compatible with the 3DS, all incarnations of the DSi, as well as the original DS and DS Lite.

Miyamoto leaves position at Nintendo to pursue personal projects

Posted by Joe Pomerening On December - 8 - 2011

Shigeru Miyamoto, the man who created some of the world’s most memorable franchises like Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, and more, has recently announced that he will be stepping down from his current position at Nintendo and will be focusing his efforts on personal projects.

In an interview with Wired, Miyamoto announced that while he is not leaving Nintendo entirely, he is retiring from his producer position. He will still be working with Nintendo, but states that he wants to work on smaller titles where he has more creative control.

…I’m not intending to start from things that require a five-year development time.

Wired has not yet posted the full interview with Miyamoto, however we’ll keep you posted on these developments. In the meantime, feel free to speculate what this could possibly mean for the future of Nintendo.

Posted by Jens Erik Vaaler On November - 2 - 2011

I find it amazing that the Japanese manage to make pretty good film adaptations of popular video games while Hollywood regurlarly fucks it up.

Hence I was very excited when Viz Mediasaid they’d localise the Professor Layton anime movie, Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva for a western release. Not only that, the film will come out this November 8! That’s a week from now, for those keeping count.
