Staff who had accompanied Ailene said they were confronted by Partin, 36, in the parking lot who put her in a van. Some reports have suggested that the family were heading for Mexico.

The girl was under court-ordered custody according to police in Dothan who would give no further details as to why she was a ward of the state.

According to a report by Gather.com, Ailene Lander is pregnant. Calls to the Dothan police department were not immediately returned to MailOnline.

Alabama Department of Human Resources did not respond to messages.

FBI believe that the girl's mother Julie Bethke and her five brothers and sisters were also with Ailene. Bethke could be assisting Partin in the abduction.
