‘Vanderbilt Cup’ is the debut single from Bristolian four-piece Empty Pools and, as introductions go, is very impressive indeed, building towards its climax with a playful yet forceful insistence.
The most recent of the Shaking Through series features the wonderful Cat Martino, with a little help from Sufjan Stevens and Man Man’s Chris Powell. Darker than her previous work, its gentle electronica gives her gorgeously measured vocals full room to breathe.
