By far the headline addition to this week’s PSN Store Update is LittleBigPlanet Vita. If you missed our review, now is a perfect time to go back and read over it before it’s added to the store later this afternoon and your reading time is drastically curtailed for the foreseeable future.
Sackboy isn’t the only addition to the Store, though, Borderlands 2 crops up for PS3 for £50 and SSX is – staggeringly – £58. Digital downloads eh?
At least you can buy those titles though, if you’re rich enough. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is still MIA, with no explanation. I’ve bought it on Steam and I suspect that many potential PS3 players will have either done the same, if they have the ability, or the interest will just have died by the time SCEE gets around to releasing it.

As usual, everything else can be found on the EU PS Blog post.
SSX costs more than Borderlands 2?
It includes some DLC aswell I think. But still EA can’t set digital prices.
£57.99 for a game which is available for half that price elsewhere is a joke, it’s not like it’s new or anything.
Couple of EA games were also £57.99 last week. Joke, unless you play solidly like I did with my £54.99 purchase of FIFA12 last year, which incidently FIFA13 is £49.99 this year or at least that’s what it shows on pre-order on the PSN Store
The problem is that publishers like EA are setting their prices based on EU countries not the UK. UK games are a lot cheaper and they’d rather lose UK digital sales than EU countries buy off the UK store cheaply.
Amazon France is selling SSX for €54 which puts the digital price at roughly the high street price. Borderlands 2 is similar.
None of us will like it but I can understand why they do it.
You cannot trade in digital downloads which makes them even more expensive.
what other non consumable product is there that depreciates 100% as soon as you’ve bought it?
Toilet paper?
Can’t imagine how many CS:Go sales have been lost.
just think of all the times this has happened and how many games, and how many sales have been lost, it must run into many millions of euros worth of sales by now.
I bought CS:GO on Steam frigging aaaaaaages ago. Can’t believe the EU store hasn’t got it yet. Waiting for Jet Set Radio to come out on Vita and I’m not gonna bother with LBP Vita so yeah, not much this week for me.
Might buy LBP as a download, I wonder how much Game are selling it for
Also I thought Jet Set Radio was coming to vita too?
Not til late october/November i think
Good to see the PS2 catalogue is improving week on week….
Rather bizarre selection of PS2 ‘Classics’ again. I’d pay brand new retail price or more for NHL2002
Most decent ps2 games get an HD version with trophy support rather than a straight digital release of the original.
I don’t think think the ps2 classics list will ever be populated that heavily with true classics
Raw looks amazing, it’s just typical that I spent my last £12 of my PSN store credit yesterday….
Just Pinball Arcade and Magic 2013 DLC for me, gotta wait a bit till I get LBP Vita.
Apparently Rock Band 1 & 2 DLC has up to 50% off now too according to the blog.
the reason PSN full downloads are higher suddenly hit me, they must know that when i buy a game i also give it to my mate, that extra £10 for borderlands 2 seems kind of justified now. for SFX it is not however.
Was thinking about this the other day. You could effectively have 4 mates chip in and get stuff for £10-12 each.
This is why they started limiting PSN IDs to two consoles only – game sharing!
if they didn’t want people doing that, why did they call it game sharing?
sharing: To participate in, use, enjoy, or experience jointly or in turns.
I’m not sure that’s what they called it ;)
I game share a lot with my brother and it works out well. Often we’ve paid £50 for a game but effectively only paid £25 each.
Hazel – I don’t think Sony coined “game sharing” its not something they’ve ever been happy for you to do. They’ve managed to make it impossible on vita and have now limited it on ps3 by changing to 2 console activations per account. By the time ps4 comes game sharing will be a thing of the past.
