'Vroom vroom': An excitable Katy Perry steps into the fast lane as she hits the Singapore Grand Prix before donning a pit girl outfit to perform

She's just returned from a spiritual quest where she 'ate, prayed and climbed a volcano'.

But on Sunday it was back to work as usual for Katy Perry as performed at the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix on the Marina Bay City Circuit.

The singer seemed in high spirits as she watched the likes of Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton competing before taking to the stage.

Curvy Katy made the most of her best assets in a low-cut flattering black, blue and white patterned dress.

The I Kissed A Girl singer, who has recently had her hair dyed both blue and purple, had gone back to her roots, sporting a simple, sleek dark brown bob.

Katy seemed in high spirits as she happily posed for the cameras but she seemed most excited as she flashed the peace sign standing in front of one of the cars in the pit.

The musical star performed later drawing the three days of racing to a close.

And Katy appeared to be dressed as a pit girl for the final concert and was dressed in a revealed outfit before ripping off her skirt to stand in just a leotard.

Lewis Hamilton slipped to fourth following a gearbox failure, while Jenson Button took second.

The news will no doubt delight Jenson's girlfriend Japanese model Jessica Michibata, who was seen wearing a stunning strapless blue dress ahead of the race.

Katy was clearly excited about her performance and tweeted a picture of a couple of toy race cars and a sparkly microphone, which she accompanied with the words: 'vrooooom vroooooom!'

Maroon 5 performed at the race course on Saturday evening.

Her return to work comes a short while after a brief soul searching trip to an unknown location.

Katy tweeted a picture of herself on Wednesday morning at the top of the volcano, along with the caption: 'I ate, I prayed, I climbed a volcano.'

It seems the brunette pop star has been getting in touch with her spiritual side recently, meditating and cleansing her 'chakras'.

Katy's divorce from British comedian Russell Brand was finalised in July and just a few months afterwards, Katy sparked rumours of a romance with fellow singer Mayer.

The pair were last photographed together on 11th September, when they were spotted partying together at a Las Vegas strip club until 5am.

Just for the record, women are supposed to have rounded stomachs. They are not lazy, fat or pregnant. I didn't know that until I was about 22. Probably because of papers and comments like these. - Anna, London, 23/09/2012 21:23 I don't!? Why are they meant to be rounded???

I was at her performance last night and I have to say I was rather disappointed. She was OK but in comparison to Maroon 5 from Saturday night she was a bit lacking in her performance, considering I much prefer Katy Perry to Maroon 5 it was a great shame.

She has gained weight and should not wear skimpy clothes that make her look fat. As a normal person she is fine but as an entertainer she is a cow. And I love her and her music.
