It is no secret that I am quite excited about THQ’s “WWE Legends of WrestleMania.” Not only will the game feature many memorable grapplers from my childhood, but it will also come packed with authentic themes and entrances. Essentially, it is going to be the greatest wrestling game since “No Mercy” on the Nintendo 64. Maybe.

Gametrailers has posted a couple new videos detailing the Relive and Redefine aspects of the Tour Mode. The names are pretty self-explanatory, but hit the jump if you want some details. [continue reading →]

Internal Conflicts Delay Halo 3

by Dave

Bungie has decided not to release Halo 3 on September 25th, to the disappointment of many gamers. They have opted to instead keep all of the pre-order money and just re release Halo with HD graphics, dubbed Halo HD. They had been saving this for a rainy day and the brown water is rising.

According to Chuck Merryman, spokesperson for Bungie, “Everyone at Bungie including myself has caught a massive case of highly contagious diarrhea, the game has been put..on..hold..until…oh no!” After several trips to the bathroom, he went on to say that Bungie intends on releasing the game in April after everyone is solid again and their facilities have been sterilized. Halo 3 is already giving everyone crap, no need for more.

The plus side, besides not having to visit the toilet every 5 minutes, you can get Halo HD for $40, instead of paying $60 for Halo 3. For those that want something a little extra you can still get all of the Halo 3 crap, the helmet you can’t wear, gym bag, deodorant, condoms, etc. for just $30 more. Be sure to to check out the all new Pepto-Halo 3 edition, a recently added sponsor. I wonder why.

Unless you feel like moving your 360 and TV into your bathroom, although some of you may have already, this is a good thing. On a side note, for the 360, WATER BAD! Bungie should be commended for being considerate enough not to infect over 1 million people with diarrhea.

Besides, April isn’t too far away, then again neither is your bathroom.

Would you risk diarrhea for Halo 3 ? Display your courage on our forums.

What would happen if Rockstar was purchased by Insomniac Games?

buysellOn top of the constant flow of “<Company X> has announced they’re laying off <Quantity Y> people by <Date Z>”, there has been unrelenting stream of announcements of companies we all know (and sometimes love) purchasing other companies and/or being purchased themselves.  Just today, for example, we’ve learned that… [continue reading →]

UPDATED: Respawn Radio is coming home to Sarcastic Gamer

I’m extremely proud to announce that Respawn Radio will be moving to the Wednesday Slot for the Sarcastic Gamer Podcasts. 8bit Bass and I will do a weekly show that will be slightly longer than the traditional SG podcasts focusing on entertaining video game discussion. Our third chair will be rounded out by special guests and staff from SG.

8Bit and I would like to publicly thank Achievement Hunter for taking on Respawn Radio in the beginning and giving us a home for 42 awesome episodes. As in life, things change as we move forward in life. We wish nothing but the best of luck to Knuckles Dawson and his new Achievement Hunter focused podcast.

As for the details, we will still try to record the show live, although we’re still working the technical issues out. So, if there will be a live show, we will definitely let you know.  In the meantime, for our first SG podcast, we’re thrilled to have none other than Editor, writer, one man podcaster extraordinaire Shanghai Six join us to talk about Heavy Rain, MAG and a bunch of other stuff on Episode 43 of Respawn Radio on Sarcastic Gamer!!!

UPDATE: Holy crap, forgot to mention that the Absolutely Awesome Captain Average will also be doing his regular PSAs on Respawn Radio every week.  Woot!

3D Gametrailers: At Least One Good Reason to Own a 3DS

I won’t kid you about this. I am now using my 3DS to play older DS games since not even a replay through Zelda has gained my interest. As we round the corner of a full business quarter with the 3DS flailing on the market, I am getting a little worried that I may not be enjoying my 3DS as much as I should be.

However, something new for the 3DS has me hooked a 100%; the new trailers that are available in Nintendo’s eshop.

Breaking Up Is FUN To Do

Source: Kotaku
EA Sports, EA Games, EA Casual Entertainment and The Sims. Those are the four new sections of Electronic Arts. Each independent of the other, I guess with the exception of the huge monetary tributes they’ll have to pay to the motherland.

The first three categories make sense to me, but it seems a real gamble to create a whole division of your company based on one title. Granted, its a wildly successful title.

Maybe EA will expand to include another division in the near future. The “Buy up every license possible so no one can compete with us division” kinda has a nice sound to it. Don’t you agree?

SG Review: Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed (iPad)

Hearing the words 'Need for Speed' always gives me a hankering for 80s rock. I blame Top Gun.

As many of you know, I love me a smidge of racing.  Also, I’m guilty as charged for being a tad of an Apple fanboy.  So, the great and good of Sarcastic Gamer saw fit to line me up for taking at look at Electronic Arts’ Need For Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed for the iPad.

I must admit that I wasn’t the biggest fan of the console iteration of this title – mainly because the steering was twitchier than an alcoholic with the DTs (mind you, they probably shouldn’t be driving anyway).  Dodgy control analogies aside, I was interested to see what could be mustered on the iPad.  Especially as I’m more than willing to make myself look like a plonker on the tube by virtue of pretending my iPad’s a steering wheel.

So how does Shift 2: Unleashed fare?  Find out after the jump!

Super Nazi Zombie Guide!

Editor’s note: This is yet another in a long list of kick ass Sarcastic Gamer Survival Guides. If you want to check out the other ones in the series, click here for our list of guides for games like GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War 2 and Far Cry 2, among others.

Call of Duty: World at War.  What a mouthful.  Unfortunately, CoD:WaW is your standard World War II shooter, with a few highlights throughout the Single Player Campaign. Really, there’s not much to recommend to the seasoned shooter fan that they haven’t seen before, especially in the WWII genre. On the other hand, it does have one redeeming quality that sets it apart.

The Nazi Zombie Mode.

It’s a blast, and it’s ridiculously hard.  I’m no expert, but I’ve played a ton of it.  I’ll share my tips and tricks, to keep you alive longer, after the jump.
