Jim, 50, joins the cast as Colonel Stars, and was kitted out in full army uniform to shoot with leading man Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

While his outfit looked more like a uniform than a superhero get-up, Jim aided that by going incognito with a khaki eye mask.

He was seen strolling down the street while clutching an Alsatian who was clad in matching camouflage and an American flag mask, before the pair picked up some hot dogs.

Meanwhile Aaron, who plays Dave Lizewski, was wearing his instantly recognisable green and yellow Kick-Ass bodysuit.

Aaron and Jim were joined by two new cast members, Lindy Booth, who plays Night B****, and Robert Emms, who plays Insect Man.

Jim has joined the cast as the action film sees Kick-Ass joining forces with a group of regular citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume.

Jim was later seen hanging out with the cast and crew while dressed in a casual Union Jack T-shirt and jeans.

Meanwhile, Red Mist, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse plots an act of revenge to affect everyone his rival knows.

Chloe Moretz is reprising her role as Hit Girl and was spotted smooching up a storm with Aaron while sat on a purple motorbike on Wednesday.

The movie, which follows the 2010 film, is slated for a 2013 release.

That woman presenting the trailer in the video clearly hadn't seen the trailer.

Way to ruin any movie: cast Jim "attention-seeker-supremo" Carrey. They've lost what money I may have given them already.

Hopefully these are just bad photos, and age is not catching up with him.

Thrilled to hear about a Kick Ass sequel - wonder if any of the new characters can possibly match up to Hit Girl?

He's starting to look so old now! I hate it when my childhood icons start looking their age it's a reminder they're not going to be around forever
