How to Install a Lamp Post (or Fence Post):

  1. Dig a hole 2 feet deep
  2. Put the Fence post in.
  3. Put in one bag of Secrete brand concrete (we like it because it doesn’t get hard until you mix it with water)
  4. Fill it with dirt.   You don't add water.  The next time it rains it will make the concrete wet and the Secrete will set as a concrete.  So firmly pack the dirt- especially the top- to keep the post set.   How to Install a Lamp Post:  Since this something for your front yard, you could follow the directions above for a Fence Post or a second choice would be to totally fill up the whole with concrete.

How do I put the wiring in?

Our lamp posts have a 1" hole drilled through the center of the post. Our discount lamp post is one solid piece of wood.

Our lamp post has a turning on the top of the post, so it's easy to put the lamp onto of the post- it's already sized for the lamp.

Some free advice on Lamp Posts:

When installing a post, dig a whole about 24" deep.  Put the post in, and either fill back up with dirt that you removed OR fill the whole with Secrete/concrete.  When filling the whole with Secrete, make sure to OVER fill the whole, so the water drains away from the post.  This will prevent water sitting stagnantly by the post.

Choosing the best lamp post:

If you like the traditional look, the straight look-go with our standard lamp post.  And if you like the Victorian look, go with our Exquisite Lamp post which has a 40" long turning on it.
