When You Cry In Space Your Tears Go Everywhere

A girl climbs an endless mountain and the snow falls.
Astronauts take ants into space and plant a flag on the moon.
A man in his tent builds a fire and contemplates the worst song to die to.

Join a group of explorers as they engineer extraordinary events and challenging scenarios for each other, meet a curious team who just want to know what it’s like. Like a life-size pop-up book they create stories of snowstorms, mountain adventures and space travel, and then consider what might go through your mind as the extraordinary becomes all too familiar.

When You Cry… is a funny and poignant performance piece that explores themes of adventure, achievement, loneliness and isolation. It weaves together multiple narratives, echoes of personal experience, and scientific fact with a strong paper aesthetic that makes the construction of scenes visible to the audience. We use simple, everyday items to create surprising transformations of objects and space.
