She is known for playing the shy and retiring type on television.

But it seems there may be more to former X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger than meets the eye.

For former Pussycat Dolls bandmate Kaya Jone  has lambasted the singer, branding her a stuck-up diva.

It comes after Nicole kicked proverbial sand in the faces of the rest of the chart-topping group by claiming she sang 95 per cent of the vocals on their tracks.

Furious Kaya told TMZ the only reason Nicole sang lead vocals for everything, is because 'there was a lot more going on behind the scenes.'

The Buttons singer added: 'Nicole was always someone who wanted to be in the spotlight and would do pretty much anything to get it.

'To call the other girls in the Pussycat Dolls "window dressings" is a bit farfetched ... every girl in the group was talented.'

Kaya starred in the group alongside Nicole from 2003-06, and left the band just before they broke big with the debut PCD album, though she was a member when their smash song Don't Cha was released.

She departed to concentrated on a solo career, though the 28-year-old Canadian surely rues that decision, as she's yet to have a major hit.

The feud opened after Nicole slated her former bandmates, saying the reason she was the focus of the band was because she was the best.

She said: 'I love those girls. They're like my sisters. But people don't even know the whole story. They have no idea. I was in the centre because I was singing.'

Big bust up: But it appears Nicole may have been telling the truth about how much she contributed

She estimated she 'probably did 95 per cent' of the singing 'on my own' for the band's debut.

Lewis Hamilton's squeeze added: 'I hope I don't get in trouble for the stuff that I say, but I'll never forget I finished the album, PCD, and Ron and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them.

'It was the first time they'd ever heard the music. Do you understand what I'm saying? We played the album for the Pussycat Dolls. It was the first time they'd ever heard the songs.'

The album's executive producer Ron Fair backed up her version of events.

He said: 'Melody sang a bit here and there, but the records were Nicole, with the exception of an occasional ad-lib. They were Nicole. It was her.'

Out in front: Nicole said she was made the band's leader because she was the one doing all of the singing

I like Nicole's music and regs to riches story, but she never made it big on her own. Blondie, none of her songs did well. You liked them, I like some, and so did others but none made it big. Nicole never needed to talk like this and she never should have. Her motivation and drive is something to defend, however what she said here is not. It was foolish, unnecessary and vain.

Nicole Scherzinger looks a bit like Snoop Dog! And sometimes she sounds like Michael Jackson when she speaks.

She did all the singing becuase the label didn't allow the other girl's to sing. During their tour for their second album each girl got a solo song and the fans loved it, but about half way through they were cut. The label was always shoving the other girl's to the back of the stage. So I don't see what Nicole has to be upset about, the spotlight has always been on her, then and now.

Nicole is ambitious, nothing wrong with that.

Well she probably did sing most of the record but the fact also is that Nicole never scored a big hit as a solo artist when she left PCD.. So what does that say about the other girls then? - Alex , Groningen, 08/10/2012 13:20 - Ummm ... 'Baby Love', 'Don't hold your breath', 'Right there' these are all songs of Nicole's since she went solo and they were all quite big and well known ... where you been??? lol

Kaya went solo herself and failed, so now she's having a go at Scherzinger for doing the same thing but being successful. Scherzinger is beautiful, talented and moving up the career ladder, no-one knows who Kaya is. Kaya just sounds childish and bitter.

Nicole would sell her Granny to further her career, she is in good company with The Cowell as he is of the same character. Fame and success first, human beings and feelings second. Even if this is true and she did do 95% of all the singing in PCD, how very ungracious of her to broadcast this info herself, just shows her true colours.
