http://musicbrainz.org/artist/38b511a2-76fa-4a1e-9b7a-e2a6efa6399b is set to group and male. I thought the database was not supposed to ever permit that.

This has now been merged to the beta branch. As this code only contains database constraints, it can't be beta tested, thus I am closing this.

Why does the artist still appear to have a gender set in the "Artist Information" sidebar?

Ian McEwen added a comment - 05/Oct/12 04:11 AM

Good question. Looking at the database directly, that artist's gender is set to NULL, as it should – I suspect caching may be involved.

Ian McEwen added a comment - 06/Oct/12 11:14 AM

Yes, it was the cache. I've manually cleared the cache for this artist; as things get edited this sort of thing will disappear.
