Massive XCOM: Enemy Unknown video: how not to conquer an Alien Base

We published the below by mistake at the back-end of September, infringing a 2K Games embargo. Wrist slaps were duly administered, and the video was taken down. Now that our XCOM: Enemy Unknown review is live, the footage is clear for public consumption. Enjoy.

I managed to save over Matt's XCOM: Enemy Unknown file this week, terminating the saga of OXM Squad ahead of schedule. On discovering this, I was initially rueful but unconcerned. "You've already done six of those videos," I told his tearful, shouting face. "Come on, mate. You've got other fish to fry." And there the matter would have ended, had I not subsequently caught sight of a certain thread on the official XCOM: Enemy Unknown forum.

Turns out XCOM fans are really fond of OXM Squad, despite Matt's habit of sending all his soldiers to their doom, and those XCOM fans are consequently a bit annoyed with me. Good news, everyone! I've recorded an XCOM video of my own. It's long, unedited, full of laboriously worded commentary and takes place relatively late in the campaign, which is why everybody looks like they've stepped right out of Mass Effect. Got to love upgrades.

I'm playing the game on Classic difficulty, like Matt, and like Matt, I'm fairly bad at it. Still, I think I do a serviceable job midway through of using Overwatch to (cough) overcome a material disadvantage in a minimal cover situation. You will doubtless have your own opinions on the matter, and should deploy those opinions in the cover spots located somewhere below the "post a comment" button.
