Cockneys vs Zombies stars to attend MCM London Comic Con

cockneys-vs-zombies-filmstill.jpgStars of British horror comedy Cockneys vs Zombies will be attending the MCM London Comic Con.

Alan Ford and other members of the cast will be appearing on a panel alongside writer and producer James Moran on Sunday, October 28.

Cockneys vs Zombies follows a group of plucky cousins as they try to rob a bank to save their grandparents care home from developers. Little do they know that while they're cleaning out the vault, zombies are cleaning up the East End and shuffling towards Bow Bells' care home with an appetite for OAPs.

The movie stars a host of Britain's finest acting talent including Honor Blackman (Goldfinger, The Avengers series, Bridget Jones's Diary), Rasmus Hardiker (Starter for 10, I Want Candy, Saxondale), Harry Treadaway (Fish Tank, Control), Michelle Ryan (4.3.2.1, Bionic Woman), Ashley 'Bashy' Thomas (4.3.2.1, Shank), Jack Doolan (Cemetery Junction, The Green Green Grass) and Alan Ford (Snatch, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels).

iron-man-3-concept-art-3.jpgFollowing Marvel's release of a plot summary shedding a little more light on Thor: The Dark World, we've been treated to a similar description of the studio's Iron Man 3.

The official synopsis is included in full below. Directed by Shane Black, the third adventure for billionaire Tony Stark and his armoured alter-ego sees Robert Downey Jr back in the title role, alongside returning co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Don Cheadle as James Rhodes aka War Machine.

New to the franchise are Guy Pearce as scientist Aldrich Killian, Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin, Rebecca Hall as Maya Hansen and James Badge Dale as Eric Savin (loosely based on comic book character Coldblood).

wally-pfister.jpgWally Pfister, the cinematographer on Christopher Nolan's Batman saga, has admitted he is not that fond of the superhero genre.

Pfister - who has worked on all of Nolan's movies since Memento in 2000 - was nominated for an Oscar for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, with the trilogy's closing chapter The Dark Knight Rises released this summer.

Speaking to students at Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida, USA, the lensman was asked what genre he preferred working on and responded: "I'm not a big superhero fan. In terms of the moviegoing experience for me, I love the realistic stuff because it's just that much less formulaic. When I was first approached by Christopher for Batman Begins, I was like, really? A guy in a rubber suit?"

walking-dead-newstill3.jpgPrisons are always grey, grim places - and a prison in the midst of a zombie apocalypse is even more depressing.

Imagine blood splattered over sparse, claustrophobic cells and decaying prisoners lumbering around in dull grey pyjamas.

But it's in this unlikely haven that sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes chooses to shelter his pregnant wife Lori, their young son Carl and the rest of the motley crew that make up the cast of The Walking Dead.

When the Emmy award-winning show launches its third season on UK TV tonight, its cast - led by British export Andrew Lincoln as Rick - will still be filming in the countryside around Atlanta, Georgia.

karen-allen-indiana-jones.jpgKaren Allen is best known for playing Marion Ravenwood in 1981's Raiders of the Lost Ark and then reprising the role in 2008 for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

With Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures released on Blu-ray earlier this month, the actress has been talking about her involvement with the classic adventure series.

life-of-pi-onesheet.jpgThree years since Ang Lee's trip through time to the summer of 1969 in 2009's Taking Woodstock, the filmmaker is back behind the camera for magical adventure Life of Pi, based on Yann Martel's bestselling novel.

It's the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper's son who finds himself in the company of a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan and a Bengal tiger after a shipwreck sets them adrift in the Pacific Ocean.

The film is generating rave reviews at US festivals and you can get an idea of what all the fuss is about with a new featurette called Impossible Journey, which is embedded below. The full-length trailer and UK trailer are also included along with a couple of stills.

All are included below, along with both trailers. Click on the infographic to open up a larger version.

antman-artwork-newsize.jpgMARVEL has announced that its big-screen adaptation of Ant-Man, to be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs the World), will arrive in cinemas on November 6, 2015.

The hero is a scientist who discovers a way of shrinking to insect size and communicating with ants.

Test footage from the long-developing film - first mentioned back in 2006 - was screened at San Diego Comic-Con in July, signalling that the project was picking up momentum.
