They're both busy actors and fathers, with little time to focus on which of the season's hair trends they want to adopt.

But in opting for low-maintenance buzz cut styles, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin seem to have started off their very own star trend.

Brolin was spotted on the set of new Spike Lee movie, Oldboy, in New Orleans on Thursday sporting a super-short no-fuss haircut.

Meanwhile, Damon was seen out and about in New York showcasing exactly the same style, while keeping the rest of his look casual in a charcoal hooded jumper and denim jeans.

Although both men are undoubtedly thrilled with the hassle-free nature of their respective buzz cuts, their image overhauls have been for new movie roles.

The Bourne trilogy star has been transformed from a member of the A-list elite to a prison thug for his part in upcoming film Elysium.

The 41-year-old takes centre stage in the latest offering from Neill Blomkamp, which follows life on another planet and will combine 'sociopolitical ideas and action'.

Meanwhile, Brolin's look has been adopted for his role as Joe Doucett in Oldboy, with the Oscar-nominee looking slick on set in a smart black suit and matching shirt.

The movie tells the tale of an everyday man who has only five days to find out why he was imprisoned for 15 years without explanation.

Samuel Jackson and Elizabeth Olsen also have key parts in the movie, which is a remake of a Korean movie originally released in 2003.

They both found a way to look ugly though with Brolin now he looks tougher. With Damon it's ridiculous.

Buzz cuts and bald are very sexy at any age. Better for a man to shave his head if the hair is thinning or a nuisance to style. Leaving little strips of hair to grow long in attempt to compensate or cover up is extremely UN-sexy.

Come on guys! It looks like hell and you know it. It's not becoming on either of them. Makes them look even more "snotty".
