Like all Harrisons magazines, Wink followed the formula developed for Beauty Parade. However it did contain two innovations to set it apart from its rivals, (even though all its rivals were owned and published by Harrison). These were:
1. A strong fetish element was added to the photostories, by public demand. Instead of the "girl next door" look favoured by Beauty Parade and Eyeful, Wink contained girls in chains, whip wielding "wild sirens" and spanking stories.
2. A reprint of John Willie's "Sweet Gwendoline" comic strip, a double page bondage saga concerning the exploits of Sweet Gwendoline of the title and the dastardly Sir d'Arcy.
