Wesley Snipes can travel overseas for filming, despite the U.S. government's objections.

U.S. attorneys in Ocala wanted to restrict Snipes' travel because the actor attended a party in Dubai last November for the opening of a resort.

Senior U.S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges said Tuesday that Snipes did exceed a July 2008 court order limiting his travels to London and Bangkok for work on movies. However, Hodges also said Snipes had never failed to appear in court when required.

A Florida jury convicted the action star last year of willfully failing to file income taxes. Snipes is free on bond while he appeals the conviction and a three-year prison sentence.

Snipes had sought permission to travel to Namibia and London for filming.
