Bye bye Blair! Leighton Meester chops her famous locks after wrapping Gossip Girl

 Leighton Meester has cut off her brunette locks to celebrate the end of Gossip Girl.

The 26-year-old, who played Blair Waldorf, premiered the new hairstyle at a Flaunt magazine dinner in her honor at Ink restaurant in West Hollywood.

Chatting about her new 'do, the actress told website Just Jared:  'I chopped off my hair after Gossip Girl wrapped.'

She added: 'My long, wavy hair got a lot of mileage, so it was time for a change.'

The brunette star entrusted Gossip Girl hairstylist Lizzie Reilly to give her the mane makeover.

Speaking at the Thursday night event, Meester gushed: 'I love it.'

'I hop out of the shower and it takes five minutes to dry!'

Meester isn't the only Gossip Girl star to get a new look since the show finished production in mid-October.

Penn Badgley, 25, shaved off his big, curly locks in favor of a more streamlined buzz cut.

Gossip Girl will end on December 10 after six seasons.

'It'll be bittersweet. I'm sure we all want to go on to,  not bigger things, but different things,' Badgley told Us Weekly earlier this year.

'It will be a complicated feeling of ambivalence.'

Looks like its just her layers hanging down and the rest tied back. You can't see a side or back pic so prob just a style rather than cut
