How Can I Make My Dog Stop Barking?

Why dogs bark; & gtt_1

Breed – some dogs were bred to bark as hounds and dogs used as guards

Frustration – energy is not burned by proper exercise may occur barking

Emotional need – boredom, stress, excitement

Attention – barking will take care – whether good or bad

Noise – dogs, people, thunder, cars, horns, bells, fireworks, etc … & Gtt_1.

Physical need – hungry to be eliminate

Barking may be one of the most difficult behaviors to change. It was a rewarding activity which means that the act of stripping is the reward in many cases. Barking is also a natural and innate behavior, which means barking is a dog’s genetic makeup. A basic foundation of obedience training are a must! Excessive barking, really is not the problem is a symptom. To cure the symptom, you should learn why it is barking to reduce the occurrence and teach him to stop barking when say.

Leaving your dog in the backyard while you’re away can lead to boredom, excited and anxious barking. Excessive barking outdoors can lead to lawsuits. It may be best to leave your dog at home or in a cage, if necessary to prevent the inconvenience to your neighbors. If your dog barks in the backyard, try leaving, then sneaking back to a point where you can watch your dog without him knowing you are there to observe when it barks. It was barking at something he sees or hears or barking just for the sake of barking? If you see that is barking at something, the first thing to do is to try to prevent the dog from seeing or hearing things that trigger barking. Is he bored? Sure has a lot of games you can rotate on a daily basis. Chew toys can be stuffed with a yummy filling, then frozen it can keep your dog busy. Hiding different games around the backyard or at home can also keep him busy looking for the next game (not recommended for dogs that are destructive). Interactive toys that make noise, to have food stuffed in them or can be pushed around for treats to fall out all the great ways to keep him busy.

Dogs are very social animals; Adequate exercise, stimulation and attention to lead a balanced life when they do not get exercise, stimulation and attention, they become frustrated and that frustration will manifest in unacceptable behavior, like excessive barking. , Digging, destructive chewing, etc. … & Gtt_1

Do not scold or comfort your dog when it barks, as this will have either no effect or encourage this behavior. Wait until there is a lull in the shelling and then praise your dog to be quiet. & Gtt_1

Socializing your pet to new experiences is important. Expose the young people, sights and sounds and praise and reward when it is quiet. This should be done several times and repeated throughout life.

If your dog barks in the crate, it is very important not to talk, yell at him or give him any attention what so ever to have stopped barking time is vital;. The only time permitted by the cage when it is quiet. Keeping your dog on a feeding schedule and knowing about when your dog needs to go potty will help you determine if it is barking because it needs to potty or just because he wants out or wants your attention. & Gtt_1

If your dog is barking inside and outside noise, leaving the TV or radio in an average can help the brain by the sudden noise that occur outside. If it barks at things to see, try leaving the blinds closed or locked by the area gives a view outside world.

To to stop your dog from barking excessively, teach the “quiet” cue (you can name it anything you like “Shhh,” “Enough,” “thank you”) This is done in stages:. & Gtt_1

Stage 1 -. Teach your dog to “quiet” equals yummy stuff & gtt_1

When dog does not bark, say ” quiet “with a hand signal, such as putting your finger on your lips, or you can select your own command and hand signal and give your dog a great therapy value. Repeat this as often as you can so when you’re in another room and say quite come running to you knowing they will get a treat; until you can give only the hand signal and gets excited knowing that they are getting a treat.

Stage 2 – Teaching the dog you what “Quiet” or “shh” means.

Now linking your puppy to the sound yummy stuff, wait until the bark and say “quiet” with the use of the mark your hand and then just wait. Do not repeat the slogan. The instant your puppy stops barking, say “good quiet” and give the yummy treat. Repeat this process until as soon as you say “quiet” or give a hand signal, stops barking.

Stage 3 – Expects more silence.

Once understand that when you say calm has to stop barking, start delay giving the treatment. Slowly increase the time your puppy should be calm before getting treatment. Initially it should be only a few seconds, then slowly add a couple of seconds at a time until when you say quiet, peaceful lives. You have to distract him once he has stopped barking the lead in another area, do some practice obedience with him or play a game with him.
