Life imitates art! Amy Poehler enjoys Parks and Recreation on a sunny day out with her son
|
It could not have been much more appropriate for sitcom star Amy Poehler.
For the actress headed down to the park to enjoy some recreation with her son Abel on Saturday.
The pair were entertained by her co-star Aubrey Plaza, who was taking part in a softball game.
Three's company: Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler took son able to watch Aubrey Plaza play softball in Los Angeles on Saturday
The Parks and Recreational favourites are obviously close, given Amy's apparent enthusiasm to watch a team of amateur sportspeople slog their way through a match.
Comedienne Amy, who split from her husband Will Arnett last month, looked in good cheer as she stomped her way over to the field of play.
She may even have attracted a few would be suitors after donning a tight fitting pink T-shirt, jogging bottoms and a baseball cap.
Bizarrely here T-shirt was emblazoned with the word Hoosier, the official name of residents of Indiana, despite the fact she was born and bred in Massachusetts.
Two-year-old Abel seemed to have enjoyed the match, for whole he was yawning on his way to the game, he was welling up when the fun day out was over.
Not softball: Her yawning son did not seem overly eager at first to watch amateur sportswomen slog their way through a match
In good shape: The newly single actress would not have been short of potential suitors after donning a tight top
Matching trousers: Amy and her ambrosial son both wore calf-length leggings for their outing
Amy has recently won praise for her website on which she offers advice to teenage grils, Smart Girls at the Party.
And she believes the reason for its success is it does not talk down to youngsters.
She said: 'The Internet can be a really tough place for a young girl to see images and hear messages that aren’t helpful to her.
'When we started Smart Girls at the Party, the site and now the channel on YouTube, we just wanted to do something fun.
We wanted to do almost something that was an answer or an antidote to a lot of the programming that we see on the Internet for young girls.
'The earlier you learn you should focus on what you have — and not obsess over the things you don’t have — the happier you will be.
How confusing: The Massachusetts born and raised star wore a T-shirt emblazoned with the word Hoosier
Taking his eye off the ball: Abel seemed to be looking at something far away from the field of play
Time to go: Amy's boy seemed more than a little disappointed to be leaving after the exciting game
