That won't get Heidi's Seal of approval! Klum's ex attends Halloween party with date... in matching (but pared down) outfits

Their annual Halloween parties became the stuff of legend.

Each year, Heidi Klum and Seal dressed up in ever more elaborate his 'n' hers costumes; even last Halloween, before their shocking split... they were monkeying around together dressed as apes.

So last night, Seal, 49, slipped a bit too comfortably into another matching pair as he attended a celeb-studded party in Beverly Hills dressed as a basketball player with a pretty brunette.

Heidi's ex was wearing Boston Celtics green while his friend was wearing an LA Lakers kit... it screamed 'we're together' but without making a huge show stopping fuss.

So basically it's a fingers up at Heidi in every possible sense.

But then, with the 20/20 vision of hindsight... doesn't Seal (a man possessed of a at least a moderately inflated ego) look a bit like an accessory to Heidi in each of her attention grabbing costumes?

Smiles better: Is it just us or does Seal look relieved not be trussed up to accompany Klum's show-stopper this year?

Not taking it too seriously: Seal dressed up, but in the most casual sense possible

Every year, the 39-year-old excels herself with another show-stopping ensemble, from a sexy cat to a the Hindu god Kali to a Transformer... and Seal always matched her look.

Last year Heidi even held two parties, one in Las Vegas and the other in New York; this year she's already given a sneak peak of her costume, an Egyptian queen... so Seal perhaps escaped being wrapped up like a mummy.

Klum has repeatedly relished turning her natural beauty on it's head by making herself look silly, or even creepy.

Her 2008 costume of the Goddess Kali sparked outrage from Hindu leaders who demanded an apology.

'I loved my costume and I love Halloween,' Klum said at the time response to the controversy.

'I mean that is one of my most favorite times of the year. I've done so many different things. This was probably my tenth time and I've done so many people like Betty Boob and Lady Godiva and it’s always a take on someone. You’re not that person.'

I like Heidi's costumes, they're all creative and interesting to look at. Versus the look most girls go for, which is always trying to look sexy.

Heidi Klum is a nasty piece of work. Hope the next man who gets her pregnant sticks with her' so some other poor guy don't have to pick up the slack and get shafted in the end.

I love that Heidi is secure enough to do weird/scary/interesting costumes instead of the typical, sexy halloween get-up. She was obviously the creative half of the couple.
