Madonna drew boos and triggered a walkout by several concertgoers after she touted President Barack Obama on her 'MDNA Tour' in New Orleans.

The Material Girl asked during Saturday night's performance, 'Who's registered to vote?' adding: 'I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.'

Drawing boos in touting Obama over Republican Mitt Romney, Madonna followed: 'Seriously, I don't care who you vote for ... Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.'

Madonna is often outspoken with previous performances featuring political rallying and controversial gestures.

Just last month at a concert in Washington, D.C. Madonna offered a similar pro-Obama speech to fans but with her endorsement called him 'the black Muslim in the White House.'

'So y'all better vote for f***ing Obama, okay? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House, okay? Now that is some s***. That’s some amazing sh***,' she said.

It is uncertain whether Madonna truly believes Obama, who is a practicing Christian, is a Muslim - or if she was simply poking fun at the numerous Americans who think he is.

'It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, okay? So support the man, goddammit!' she said.

At another concert in Colorado, some Denver fans, mindful of a mass shooting there, complained she used a fake gun to shoot a masked gunman during her act.

A Madonna concert in Paris in July also drew ire when a video showed a swastika on a politician's forehead.

She reminds me of Norma Desmond: "I'm ready for my spotlight, Mr. DeMille". She is nothing more than a has-been. Her opinion is hers and pretty pointless to me personally. She should just keep the politics out of her concert though. I am going to see McCartney in a couple of weeks. I hope he just sings and keeps his liberal trap shut too. Celebs think they are so much smarter than the general public....I have some swamp land in Arizona to sell to anyone who believes that. Many of them didn't even finish school. They truly show their ignorance most of the time with a few exceptions such as Gary Sinise.

Yeah....So I guess it's OK for celebrities like Clint Eastwood and John Voight to endorse the Republican candidate Mitt Romney? Double standards.

Dried-up old bag.

A good example of why celebrities should keep their political beliefs to themselves. Since when do most of them give a hoot and holler about the best interests of the general American population, anyway? By the way, cover up Madonna, you're not 18 anymore!

I wouldn't pay good money to see this trash and I don't understand people who do.

She is as entitled to express her political affiliations as anyone else. Just as so many others do on these comments pages. Had she been supporting Romney, would there still have been such vilification? I somehow doubt it...

Are you sure supporting Obama was why she was booed? Not because she is rubbish?
