Back to work! Make-up free Hilary Duff returns to mom mode day after donning Day of Dead costume for Halloween bash

Hilary Duff may have partied the night away on Friday but the actress went straight back to her motherly duties the next day.

The Lizzie Maguire star couldn't have looked more different than the night before when she attended a Halloween bash in a elaborate Day of the Dead get-up.

With her face looking freshly scrubbed 25-year-old Hilary was back to business and was spotted food shopping with her her baby son Luca in Toluca Lake, California, on Saturday.

Hilary went for the casual look for the shopping trip and was spotted in a thin grey shirt, patched blue jeans and woolly Ugg-like boots.

She wore her scraped back off her face in a messy bun and also sported trendy, thick rimmed glasses.

Six-month-old Luca looked cute in a blue hoodie and red trousers with his tiny feet bare.

The Agent Cody Banks star could be seen laughing with baby Luca as he showed her something in the supermarket.

The same day Hilary was seen out and about with her former NHL player husband Mike Comrie, 32.

He was dressed equally as casual in jeans, a T-shirt and baseball cap.

The night before Hilary and Mike left Luca at home to go to the Beverly Hills Halloween party.

She looked a world apart from the doting young mother she is and completely transformed herself with the ghoulish zombie inspired get-up.

Her makeup was a work of art: deathly white skin with black nose and black needle marks on her mouth to make believe it was sewn shut, shadowy dark eyes and golden glitter for eyebrows.

A cross was painted on the centre of Hilary's forehead and, as if to lighten the mood, a small red upside down heart was stamped on her chin.

Hilary's blonde hair was loose and moussed, and she wore a headdress of black, white and red paper flowers.

Former hockey star Mike kept things a bit more simple in a skintight skeleton costume.
