Leach's signing with the Cardinals completes a shuffling of long snappers among three NFL teams. Lonie Paxton left the New England Patriots as a free agent and signed with the Denver Broncos, who then released Leach. Former Arizona long snapper Nathan Hodel took Paxton's place in New England the next week, allowing Leach to land with the Cardinals.

Leach, 32, spent seven seasons as the Broncos' long snapper and appeared in 104 consecutive regular-season games. He made 30 special-teams tackles.

Leach entered the NFL in 2000 after signing with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted rookie free agent out of William & Mary. Leach played with the Titans for two seasons before joining the Broncos in 2002.
