Who needs the X Factor! Stylish Paula Abdul looks youthful and radiant in a black miniskirt which shows off her toned legs

The X Factor USA began its first set of live shows this week with two much-younger female judges - Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

But it doesn't seem to be bothering Paula Abdul, who only lasted for one season of the singing show.

The 50-year-old singer looked youthful and radiant in a long sleeved black sweater and black miniskirt which she teamed with a pair of black platform heels.

Her long brown hair looked glossy and she wore subtle make-up over flawless-looking skin.

The star was attending an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Entertainment & Activities Committee event, honouring choreographers in North Hollywood.

'Dance has always been my passion & a blessing in my life,' she tweeted earlier on Thursday. 'I can't wait to honor these incredible choreographers. :) xoP'

Paula who has had a long career as a choreographer, has been keeping herself busy since leaving the X Factor.

She recently appeared as a guest judge on U.S. TV series Dancing with the Stars after her show Live To Dance got cancelled.

Paula was joined by Dancing With The Stars professional Derek Hough, while legendary choreographer and director Kenny Ortega arrived looking dapper in a suit and tie.

Dancers have beautiful legs. (Same goes for ice skaters... they do the same exercise routines). Paul looks very happy. Good on her.

People forget she survived a serious accident. She has three plates holding her spine together. She lives in constant pain. I think she's a trooper. Buzzy

if you want to see the real Paula Abdul, google for images of her before the nose job. She was not pretty at all. Amazing what plastic surgery can accomplish.

Did you say this is Paula Abdul? Her plastic surgeon should be arrested...doesn't look like Abdul any longer...a lil chipmunk maybe but not our Paula.

She looks great, but not like her former self. Perhaps she had cheek implants. I didn't recognize her until a few pictures down. Sad people feel the need to do this to themselves.
