Taylor Swift makes a Red hot entrance as she braves the CMAs after Connor Kennedy split

Forget sitting at home nursing her broken heart.

Taylor Swift showed Connor Kennedy exactly what he was missing on Thursday night at the 2012 Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee.

The We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together singer made a stunning entrance in red in an elaborate Jenny Packham gown.

Taylor, 22, wore her long blonde hair styled in loose waves and she rocked red lipstick along with a red manicure.

Later in the evening she took the stage to perform in an adorable, short red dress.

Taylor was nominated in the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Musical Event of the Year for Safe & Sound with The Civil Wars, however she left the awards show empty handed.

Despite her losses, Taylor appeared upbeat in her first awards show appearance since breaking up with 18-year-old Connor Kennedy, who is the son of of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and the late Mary Richardson Kennedy.

Taylor was a good sport, even as the show's hosts Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley poked fun at her breakup with Connor.

After a whirlwind three-month romance, the young pair recently went their separate ways.

A close friend of Swift's is quoted as telling US Weekly: 'They quietly parted ways a while ago. It was just a distance thing. No hard feelings. They're fine.'

According to the pal, 22-year-old Taylor was busy promoting her new album Red - and hadn't seen Massachusetts-based Connor, 18, for more than a month.

Her CD debuted last week to critical acclaim and record first week sales.

According to Nielsen SoundScan, Red sold 1.2 million copies during its first week of release, the biggest single-week sales since 2002, hen Eminem sold 1.3 million copies of his album The Eminem Show.

It’s Swift’s second consecutive album to top the 1-million mark in its debut week.

The reason she is probably squinting may have a lot to do with the fact that it appears as if she is laughing. I would think it would take quite some effort to keep your eyes wide open when laughing, I just tried it and in all honesty, the squinty look is less frightening! The seventh picture from the top explains why Taylor bugs me. That squinty face is just not attractive. Why is she always squinting?? The hair is just awful, it looks like a style that should be on a 6 year old not someone in their 20s. Combing the bangs downward from halfway back on your head? Not cute at all.
