Only in New York City! Watch the moment two grown businessmen fight over a cab

New Yorkers are viewed the world over as impatient and aggressive with notoriously short-tempers.

In just twenty seconds, two businessmen have reinforced that reputation and swiftly epitomised the stereotype of residents in the Big Apple.

The suit-wearing men achieved this embarrassing feat last week when they were captured on film getting into a brawl over a cab in Manhattan's financial district.

Men behaving badly: Two businessmen in Manhattan's financial district were caught on film getting into a brawl over a cab last week

Apparently unbeknownst to them, the fracas was all caught on camera by a passer-by who promptly posted it on YouTube on Thursday.

In the video, the portlier of the two men gives the first shove as the other balls his fists.

Continuing to barge each other, the men race to the taxi - seemingly unaware of a young woman who has to dodge out of their way.

The men continue grappling as they both try and get in the cab and one succeeds in getting the other in a head lock.

Remarkable: The men pushed and shoved each other like children in a bid to get in the cab

By this point, the cab driver gets out his vehicle and tries in vain to break up the fight.

The pudgy man finally manages to get into the cab but not before he receives a smack on the head. Defeated, the second man slams the door closed.

Since being posted to YouTube on Thursday, the video has been seen more than 122,000 times.

Commentators have been quick to point out the mens' child-like pushing and shoving fighting style.

Indeed, the embarrassing altercation is reminiscent of Hugh Grant and Colin Firth's pathetically girlie brawl in Bridget Jones' Diary.

Sadly, the men have not been named and shamed, although one YouTube user likened them to Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

Someone should have just popped in and left these two brawlers to there childish tantrums...

Even business men in the UK cannot afford taxi fares anymore. Use a bike.

"Only in New York City" ........................ Well DM, at least these two had some sort of excuse, unlike the two girls from Manchester who were beaten up for no reason at all, which only happens in the UK.

Big deal, we have the same in London: French fighting with Spanish, Columbians with Brazilians, Iranians with Irakis etc

ha ha! If I were there, I would have jumped in and left them both to fight.

Back in the '70s I was in New York at Mother's Day when taxis were in great demand. We formed an orderly queue outside a restaurant and waited our turn. When an available cab came up to the curb, a well-dressed man suddenly darted out of nowhere, pushed an older woman aside, jumped into the cab and slammed the door shut. The taxi took off. I love New York, but this was one of the most appalling spectacles I have ever witnessed anywhere.

Seen one better, I saw two people rush at a taxi before and they both went int oa full on fight. During the time they both went to the floor - still fighting a third person casually walked around the two fighting, got into the taxi and drove off. He gave me a wave out the window to which I could only giggle.

I've seen that kind of thing on a UK motorway hard shoulder. What puzzled me was why two grown men would voluntarily eschew perfectly good weapons - their cars - and go at it with their fists instead. I don't understand the modern world at all.

PLEASE cease with this ridiculous RYAN O'SHAUGHNESSEY advert, I'm sick and tired of it and couldn't give a damn who or what he is. As result I have yet again to watch a video related to any of your stories.
