A certain Home Improvement: Tim Allen splashes out $1.4m on house in the Hollywood Hills

Home Improvement star Tim Allen has snapped up a stunning rustic home in the Hollywood Hills.

The 59-year-old actor, who attended the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Thursday night, recently splashed out on the $1.4m property, located just off famous Mulholland Drive.

Allen, most famous for playing Tim 'The Tool Man' Taylor in Nineties sitcom Home Improvement, has bought a property with a stunning canyon view.

It comes complete with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, according to Trulia Luxe Living.

The home is set over 2,604 square foot and features an open floor plan, connecting the living room and dining room.

It also has custom Vermont pine floors, French doors and large windows to allow in plenty of natural light.

The kitchen features a stone island which seats 10 people and a big fireplace.

There is also an outside deck with has a fire pit, looking on to water feature and an outdoor shower.

Allen, also a voice-over artist and author, is married to actress Jane Hajduk.

The couple have have a daughter together, three-year-old Elizabeth.

The actor also has daughter called Katherine from his previous marriage to Laura Diebel.

Not a big deal for a star like him, but not everyone wants to live in huge homes no matter how much money they have, and those floors are absolutely gorgeous. Nice looking and livable home. Good for him.

This home looks real and comfortable. About time a home that is bought by a famous celebrity that is all his family really needs. No over the top living-room. No spacial rooms to hold hundreds of people. Just big:enough to keep clean without a full time team of house keepers, grounds keepers and pool person.

As far as celebrity homes go, this one is really lovely and modest. My house is bigger and I'm far from a big shot. It looks homey and welcoming much like the man himself.
