Short Take: Scientologists win Net court case
In a victory for the Church of Scientology (a.k.a. the Religious Technology
Center), a district court in Sweden has ordered Zenon Panoussis to pay the
church $164,000 for infringing its copyright by distributing confidential
records on the Net in 1996. Aside from the online posting, Panoussis also
sent the church's copyrighted training manual to the Swedish parliament,
which according to law, is required to make documents it receives available
to the public.
