Like mother like... girlfriend? Lady Gaga's boyfriend Taylor Kinney says the pop star reminds him of his mother

The boyfriend of Lady Gaga says he fell for the singer because she reminded him of his mother.

American actor Taylor Kinney, 31, opened up about the 26-year old star and put the comparison between his lover and his mother down to their strong characteristics.

Lady Gaga - real name Stefani Germanotta - is known for her political activism, not only using her songs as a platform to promote her ideologies but also leading marches for issues like gay rights.

Speaking to The Sun, Taylor said: 'She works incredibly hard and is very strong and inspirational like mom, with a great work ethic.'

Gaga's powerful stance on these issues are obviously part of the attraction Taylor describes.

In the video the two get married, which could soon be an example of life imitating art as Taylor says that his mother Pam - a dental hygienist who brought him and his three brothers up alone in Pennsylvania - has given her blessing.

He told The Sun: 'My mom wants me to get married, and have children of course. She's met Gaga, we've been dating a while, we're in a committed relationship and I'm really happy in my relationship. I'm a very lucky guy.'

And the pitter patter of little monsters' feet could soon be heard as Taylor says: 'I do want to give mom grandchildren, of course. I think I'd be a good dad, it would be a pleasure. I'd love it - and I'm in my 30s now.'

Gaga is believed to be feeling just as broody.

According to RadarOnline an insider says she can't wait to start a family with her boyfriend.

'Gaga gushes to everyone about how in love she is with Taylor,' the source said.

'She really thinks he's the one and would be willing to give up some of the focus on her career to marry him and have kids.'

But with the Lady's global tours and Taylor's strict shooting schedule based in Chicago the beginning of family life may have to be put on hold for the time being.
