Dressed for (yoga) success! Russell Brand dons eccentric ensemble as he heads to class

It is certainly not an ensemble that would work on the red carpet.

But effeminate Russell Brand was dressed for yoga success as he headed to class on Friday in an ensemble even more eccentric than usual.

The Arthur star looked ready for yet another session of limb-bending in Hollywood.

His eclectic outfit included an esoteric white vest, brown jacket, beanie hat, and a particularly eye-catching pair of patterned trousers.

And it seems he was not quite as ready as he would have liked for his early session, as he covered his eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

It appears that he was only getting into the spirit of the eastern discipline when he wore the outfit, as he changed soon after.

And the 37-year-old looked more like his usual self in a pair of skinny jeans, fresh T-shirt and cowboy boots, though he retained his jacket.

He also took off his hat to show off his splendidly greasy mane of hair.

It comes after it emerged the comedian tried to make Katy Perry, who he split from in December 2011, feel special on her birthday by forking out for a gold cuff for her 28th birthday last month, as well as sending her a handmade meditation cushion.

A source said: ''Even though they've broken up, Russell wanted to send Katy something.

'He thought it would be nice to let her know he's thinking of her.'

If my daughter brought him home I would be delighted, why? Because he is intelligent, witty, kind, loves animals and children, is spiritual and would make a wonderful husband. I did have to smile at the clothes, you know he's never going to be a suit, so give up on it, leave him to be who is is. Is he telling you how to dress.

i bet russells not even that into yoga, most men head to pubs and clubs to meet a woman but russels had a lightbulb moment and thought where will all the fit women be. i know yoga, and lets be fair he,s not going to get much competition down there, i,de say he,s got that market covered
