Making the best of it: Liev Schreiber bikes around New York City with son, 5, a day after power is restored in Big Apple

He's only five-years-old but Alexander Schreiber is fast becoming an expert at being up on two wheels.

The little tyke joined his dad, Liev Schreiber, for a bicycle ride in New York City on Sunday.

Nearly a week after Hurricane Sandy made landfall, the pair cruised around downtown Manhattan - where power was just restored on Saturday.

The Tony Award-winning actor, 45, made the best of the afternoon with his boy.

Liev was dressed smartly in brown trousers and a navy peacoat, keeping warm with a Burberry scarf, newsboy hat and gloves.

Alexander matched his dad in a checkered scarf and navy coat, which he wore with jeans and blue tennis shoes with teal laces.

The little man sat in front of his dad at the handlebars, which he clutched with mustard yellow mittens.

Alexander stayed safe from the bumpy roads and traffic with a silver helmet, his blond locks sticking out from underneath.

Noticeably absent was Alexander's little brother Samuel, three, and mom, Naomi Watts.

In spite of the couple's high-powered Hollywood careers, the foursome are frequently seen enjoying bike rides and outings in the city.

Just last month, the 44-year-old actress jumped into a game of soccer with her boys.

The blonde beauty recently completed filming Diana where she takes on the role of the late Princess of Wales.

Liev is meanwhile set to take the stage for the 11th annual 24 Hour Plays on Broadway this month at the American Airlines Theatre.

The frenzied event has actors come together with playwrights to create and stage a 10-minute play within the span of one day.

he should wear a helmet as well as his son. imagine they crash and samuel is fine because he is protected, but he has to see what becomes of his father after knocking his head on cement.

Love the Dutch cargo bike. Could be a scene from any Dutch city. Apart from the helmet of course. Dutch don't do helmets.
