The honeymoon ended early for Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell after they discovered their hotel room had been robbed.

The 25-year-old actress tweeted on Sunday: 'Dude! Jamie and I just got robbed, found our hotel room ransacked. We are safe and have everything we need, so all is well. Damn.'

The bride took to her Twitter page on Wednesday to share: 'Words cannot describe the happiness I am feeling. Overwhelming.'

The on/off couple, who both have tattoos of each other's initials, were rumoured to have gotten engaged as early as January and Jamie was seen shopping for rings last December.

The newlyweds, who recently attended the 2012 LACMA Art + Film Gala, originally met seven years ago while filming a music video for Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends.

Before they rekindled their love in the summer of 2011, Evan had a highly publicized engagement to shock rocker Marilyn Manson in 2010.

When Evan and Jamie were spotted at LAX on Monday, the Golden Globe nominee was carrying a shopping bag from sexy lingerie boutique Kiki De Montparnasse, which rather says it all - if 'all' means honeymoon.

According to Radar, Evan and her British beau, 26, collected their marriage licence earlier this month.

'Evan and Jamie were at the Beverly Hills City marriage licence office around lunchtime today,' an eyewitness told the website.

'Overwhelming': The 25-year-old bride, who wore a custom dress by Carolina Herrera, took to her Twitter page on Wednesday to share: 'Words cannot describe the happiness i am feeling. Overwhelming.'

'They were just waiting in line like regular people, holding hands and at one point Jamie leaned over and kissed Evan - they certainly looked excited and happy.'

The busy acting couple both have four films due out for release next year.

Evan will appear in The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman with Shia LaBeouf, the romance It Is What It Is with Sigourney Weaver, and she's set to play a  female truck driver in Michael Polish's 18 Wheel Butterfly.

Meanwhile, Jamie will star in the crime-dramedy Filth with James McAvoy, sci-fi drama Snowpiercer with Tilda Swinton, and Lars von Trier's real-sex drama Nymphomaniac.

While I feel bad for Evan and Jamie, this is what happens when people use social media to broadcast every little detail of their lives. For those that don't remember 'The Bling Ring', they were a bunch of rich young people in L.A. who kept track of the richer and more famous via updates on social media sites. The "Ring" would then use that opportunity to go rob their homes. And it's not just the rich and famous who get victimized - I know of several incidents locally where homes were robbed because the occupants were at funerals or weddings that had been announced in the paper. There is such a thing as over-sharing. - Keiko in T.O. , Ontario, 05/11/2012 21:04 So So true.

"...rumoured to have gotten..." This is just not on. "Gotten" is not an English word and is horrible anyway. Please don't let it hit that side of the Atlantic.

Okay, horrible thing to happen to anyone, but why on earth would you feel the need to tweet it five minutes later?
