Mexican superstar Luis Miguel will kick off his world tour tomorrow with a concert in Madrid's Plaza de Las Ventas, the world's biggest bullring. The date will be the first of three sold-out shows that the 29-year-old entertainer -- and four-time Grammy winner -- will play in the 20,000-capacity venue.

Miguel will follow the shows with a 20-city tour through Spain, then embark on a slew of dates in South America. On New Year's Eve, he will headline a concert in San Jose, Calif.

In 2000, Miguel -- who has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide -- will set out on a full-blown U.S. tour. On the itinerary are stops in at least 22 U.S. cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, and Atlantic City.

There are also gigs planned in the new year for Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Central America.

Miguel's latest album, "Amarte Es Un Placer" (Loving You Is A Pleasure), was released worldwide yesterday by Warner Music. Songs from the disc will form the bulk of his concert material.

Miguel's last album, 1997's "Romances," set a new record for Spanish-language albums on The Billboard 200. The self-produced release entered the album chart at No. 14 and has since gone on to sell more than 4.5 million copies worldwide.
