We're about a week and a half out from the release of "Hitman: Absolution," IO Interactive and Square Enix latest installment in the stealth action series.

With that in mind, we've collected some of the developer commentary videos released over the last couple of months (as well as a new one released today) to chart decisions that went into making Agent 47 dangerous in his latest outing. After the jump, you'll not only find trailers and gameplay walkthroughs, but detailed pieces on disguise, the world's AI, and the various takedown methods which will be making their way into the November 20th release.

For the sheer sense of speed, scale, danger, and ambition, I'll hold up Criterion Games' "Burnout Paradise" as the greatest racer of this console generation. With multiple "Burnout" titles under their belts across previous generation consoles and handhelds, Criterion sought to create a seamless, open world racing experience that, though it wasn't without its faults, packed its fictional city to the brim with ramps to jump, racers to challenge, and vehicles to destroy.

Since taking the reins of the "Need For Speed" franchise, they've since folded many of the elements of "Burnout" into EA's street racing games, starting with last year's "Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit." Now they're tacking another named branch of the line, "Most Wanted," by giving it a little bit of that "Burnout Paradise" feeling, setting "Most Wanted" in a new, open city. And for the most part, it feels like a return to form with stellar multiplayer hindered somewhat by a less impressive offline mode focused on collecting and modding vehicles.

If you've been imagining the setting for the next "Assassin's Creed" title, you can cross feudal Japan off your list. Ditto World War II, or ancient Egypt. Back in April, the game's Creative Director Alex Hutchinson nixed these Internet favorite locales as possibly the worst ideas for locales to setting a chapter in the long-running battle between the Templars and Assassins.

And he's right. While I had my own issues with the use of the Revolutionary War and the mix of the wilderness and early cities on "Assassin's Creed III," the fundamentals of taking the action and working in a new setting were strong. Plus, the turmoil of the era provided a great backdrop for the story Ubisoft was attempting to tell (even if I wasn't a fan of how they told it).

So what are some other great periods and regions worth exploring in the next game?

Considering I had been playing on an Xbox 360 with a 20GB hard drive since the console was released, when it was time to upgrade I figured I would save a few bucks and go with the 4GB version. With support for up to 16GB of USB storage I ended up with virtually the same amount of space I had before, which I was perfectly fine with. However, it looks like Microsoft has upgraded flash drive storage from 16GB to 32GB. Read More...

Uh oh! Looks like seven members of an elite Navy SEALs team are being punished for information they shared with EA while consulting on "Medal of Honor: Warfighter". Turns out the soldiers, one of whom was a member of the team that helped put Osama Bin Laden down, shared classified information during the game's production. Read More...

Wow, even five years later, "Bioshock" remains a great looking game. If you're looking to dive back into Rapture and its Randian tale of horror, Gamefly is offering it up as a free PC download (warning: Gamefly account required). It's available now, although there's no word on how long the free offer will be available.

A couple of catches: first, only Windows 7 and Windows Vista are currently supported, so you Windows 8 early adopters are (for the moment, at least, out of luck). Plus, you'll need to download the Gamefly download client if you want to nab a digital copy. But other than that, no big hurdles if you want to play more "Bioshock" this weekend.

Haven't they seen "Prometheus" in the future? You just simply don't touch things you find on mysterious planets that were home to ancient, inscrutable beings and you certainly don't bring them onto your ship. That's how you get tentacle babies.

Visceral Games wants to assure "Dead Space" fans that the second sequel in the horror/sci-fi series won't break with the addition of co-op. In fact, they're hoping to use it as a way of adding to the mood and horror of the series by presenting unsettling digressions via new character/Isaac's co-op buddy John Carver.

Superbot's massively multi-character brawler has gone gold for the Vita and PS3, and they're celebrating with a new trailer showing off the final boss, Polygon. The Super Smash Brothers-alike hits Sony's platforms (with cross-play) on November 20th.

Every PS3 copy of the game will include a code for the PS Vita version, showing Sony's desire to really increase the install base for their handheld heading into the holiday season, I guess. You can see the full lineup of 16 fighters over at Sony's official site.
