Short and sweet! Isla Fisher shows off elegant up 'do as she walks the red carpet at The Rise of The Guardians premiere

She is known for her flowing fiery hair but on Thursday night Isla Fisher showed off her a new look with her locks.

The 36-year-old Australian star showed off a demure short style on the carpet at the premiere of her new film Rise of The Guardians at the Empire cinema in Leicester Square.

Isla looked sensational in a pretty cream number that boasted a broderie anglais pattern and peplum detail.

The gown nipped her in at the waist, thanks to a cappuccino band around her middle and Isla matched her satin heels and clutch bag to the darker colour.

As well as the new curled up 'do, which must have used a considerable number of hair pins, the actress also sported bright red lips for a bold look.

Isla has voiced the character of Tooth the Fairy in the 3D animated film which is based on William Joyce's The Guardians of Childhood book series.

The beauty met up with Chris Pine who also stars in the film and the pair posed for pictures with producer Christina Steinberg and Director Peter Ramsey.

Alec Baldwin, Hugh Jackman and Jude Law also star in the film but did not attend.

There was plenty of famous families attending the screening, making the most of the opportunity to take their children on a night out.

Amanda Holden was seen with her eldest daughter Lexi and it seems that the girls enjoyed themselves.

The TV presenter tweeted: 'Go see Rise of the guardians!! Amazing for whole family!! #Ibelieve x'

Nicola McLean also stepped out at the event and took to the red carpet with her husband Tom Williams and their two children Rocky and Striker.
