The lady is a vamp! Emma Roberts turns temptress in new stills from upcoming movie Adult World

She found fame as a child star on Nickelodeon but Emma Roberts is determined to prove she has shed her formerly wholesome image.

The 21-year-old actress is taking on more grown-up film roles, most notably in the form of her new movie Adult World.

It sees her star as Amy, a young woman who is freshly graduated from college and believes her fate is to become a poet.

But instead, she finds herself working for an adult book store.

It seems the movie may include racier scenes than Emma is usually seen in, if newly released stills are anything to go by.

In one image she can be seen lounging around in what appears to be a lacy camisole as well as a diamante bow tie.

Chemistry: Emma and co-star Evan Peters started dating after meeting during filming of the movie

She is all pouty lips and smoky eyes in the still, making it easy to see why her co-star Evan Peters fell for her during filming.

Another shot shows the couple giggling in one scene, which suggests their on-screen chemistry is set to be clear for all to see when the movie hits cinemas.

Also seen in the stills is John Cusack, who co-stars in the upcoming movie alongside Emma.

It is just one of a host of grittier roles coming up for Celeste and Jesse actress Emma.

She also stars We’re The Millers alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, which centres on a marijuana dealer who creates a fake family, and Empire State with Liam Hemsworth and Nikki Reed, in which she plays one of two pals who plan to rob an armoured car depository.

Adult World is due to be released in 2013.
