It's been over three years since they last performed together as a group.

And on Friday night, all five members of Girls Aloud reunited to sing their new tracks Something New and Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me on Children In Need.

Wearing the same orange off-the-shoulder tulip dresses from the Something New video, the girl group strutted about on stage with a troupe of hunky male dancers in suits.

They then changed into slinky pink and gold floor-length gowns for the ballad Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me, which they debuted on radio earlier this week.

Cheryl Cole kicked off the first performance as the backdrop parted to reveal the five-piece following a montage of them on the big screens.

All members sang live, with Nadine Coyle showing she was still the one with the strongest vocals in the group as she belted out some big notes.

Following their performance, the excited group chatted to Children In Need hosts Terry Wogan and Tess Daly.

When asked how to felt to perform together, Kimberley Walsh said: 'It's great. It's so special.'

When asked about how it felt having their song selected as the official Children In Need single, Cheryl replied: 'It's just been a very special thing to be a pat of it. We feel very fortunate to be a part of it.'

Reflecting on their reunion, Nadine enthused: 'It was really great. We couldn't wait to get back to back together.

'We were so nervous. Hope no one noticed that mistake I made when I walked forward.'

When Terry tried to question the girls over their past disagreements, Nadine raised her eyes to the ceiling and said: 'What disagreements?'

Kimberley explained: 'We've all fallen back into the same roles like nothing's ever changed.'

However, Sarah Harding joked: 'Well maybe wardrobe envy.'

They are reuniting to mark the 10th anniversary of their formation on TV talent show Popstars: The Rivals.

Friday night marked their first performance as a group since they supported Coldplay at Wembley back in September 2009.

At the time, the girls had already gone on hiatus earlier that year, but briefly reunited for the rock gig.

Jesus Sarah Harding must be a really strong woman with all the jibes that she gets about looking awful, having lost her looks, needing more Botox etc. She looks different yeah..as we all do with time!..but as far as I can see she has managed to conquer an addiction under public scrutiny..not sure if I'd be able to that. You have to give her credit. Also, these women are in their late twenties and early thirties..what has society come to when women in this age range are considered old or "past it"..whatever that means. It's ridiculous considering the average lifespan of a human being.

Just hope you have put your differences behind you and we do not have to wait another 3 years.

Who designed those awful orange dresses. They just don't do anything but detract from these young ladies beauty. The point is proved by how beautiful they look in the long dresses. It is always the same when the fashion police try to design something new which is different to the classics but invariably is ugly.

I have loved nicola for as long as I can remember. Sarah Harding was the real looker if the bunch but she is hard on th eyes now. Nicola has ever looked amazing. You can tell she has " grown up " is more mature and is content with being grown up and mature o reven older. She looks amazing, sounds amazing and dresses amazingly. Love her.

Erm, I'm not familiar with them. Are they meant to be singing? The redhead on the very end has a very strange weak voice and the rest just shout. As for all the walking around, is that what passes for dancing in the UK?

I know! Her slip was really obvious..but she recovered well - a true performer, honestly, I mean that.

I'm still not liking Nadine's Irish/American twang. I think they could have done without her to be fair. - Aint that the truth, Hertfordshire, UK, 16/11/2012 22:31 Ahh no why has she gone and ruined her lovely Northern Irish accent? Silly girl!

Poor Nadine she's one of the youngest in the band yet looks so old on picture 2. KIMBERLEY actually looks the youngest, but she is like 31 or something, so is one of the elder girls....wow!!
